Daily A La Mode

Alice Deco is my favorite lolita/j-fashion magazine currently. Everything from pastel tie-dye tights to colored freckles painted on just fascinates me. So imagine my excitement when daily_ala_mode, a community for your offbeat or casual/mixed genre lolita coordinates was born! This is a style I often wear, but had always hesitated to share with the rest of the lolita world - not quite lolita, not quite fairy, but somewhere muddled in between with a hearty helping of vintage or mainstream fashion. I wore this to shoot photos and footage for a friend's project.

Here's the full outfit shot (which unfortunately resulted in poor lighting):

Bustier, bunny-eared hoodie/cardigan: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright ♥ Skirt, socks: Angelic Pretty ♥ Boots: thrift shopping/Adidas ♥ Top: PINK by Victoria's Secret ♥ Hat: H&M ♥ Bag: SWIMMER ♥ Bracelet: The Stone Flower

This soft, pale pink knit cap is my go-to for casual style, especially after a night out (when you wind up at a diner, say). I take my hair out of the elaborate style, put the tortured curls into a side-pony, and pop on. Comfortable and hides your roots. Recently however I started to jazz it up a little:

Shown above: the pink ribbon that comes with the hat, an Angelic Pretty button (Yumemiru/Dreaming Macaron), rhinestone music note pin, and mint silk flower clips from H&M. (I also promise my hair isn't crazy varigated like this - it's the lighting!) The best part is that this hat cost me $2! I didn't think you could buy anything more than a stick of gum for two dollars!

I haven't posted yet to the community, I'm more of a browser - but I thought some of you dollies with like-minded fashion sense would be interested!

I actually prefer this slightly mixed style to strict lolita. Don't know where I can get my hands on this mag in the uk though..hmm :(
