Lolitas In the Wired

Thank you everyone who came to see Dalin of La Vida Frills, Crystal of Pretty Wonderland, and myself speak at Kinokuniya Bookstore this Saturday! The seats were packed and quickly turned to standing room only! It was great to see so many lolitas out supporting lolita style and subculture in honor of International Lolita Day :) Everyone looked great, despite the extreme humidity!

Crystal and I at the microphone for our lolita blogging panel

L to R: Dalin, myself, and Crystal after speaking to the audience (photo credit to Merry Wu - thanks, Merry!)

After our panel, Kelsey of I Do Declare and Zoh of Morrigan NYC did a panel on running your own indie lolita brand. (photo courtesy of Pretty Wonderland!)

Here you can see a display of Morrigan NYC's newest design, the Moby Dick print.

Dalin's Revolutionary Revolution (BABY the Stars Shine Bright), my Milky-chan (Angelic Pretty) and Crystal's candy print (Bodyline) in a print shot.

Here's my outfit shot, taken on the way home at the Stamford train station! All items Angelic Pretty except hairbow (Baby the Stars Shine Bright), and shoes (Montreal). In case it wasn't obvious already, I think I'm almost entirely an AP girl now ;3

I had another great International Lolita Day this year - seeing some of my favorite lolitas, delicious Thai food, cream roll cakes from Cafe Zaiya, shopping at Sanrio Luxe, and of course spending the day with my wonderful prince. I can't wait to see what December '10's ILD has in store! What about you, lovely lolita readers? What did you get up to for International Lolita Day this year? What is your dream way of celebrating ILD for this December?

Oh how fun that looks! I wish I could have attended. But being on the other side of the country, I don't think that would have been possible. But it looks like everyone had fun!

You did a great job! It was my first meet up for ILD that I have been too and I was so excited to see so many Lolitas in one place. Everyone was so lovely. Your panel was very informative and fun! I was disappointed that you seem to have left right afterwords. I wanted to meet you but when I went looking for you at the end you seemed to have left. *pout* It still was a great trip, wroth going into the city for. Thanks for letting us know about it.

Oh your coordinate is very nice! :) Milky Chan looks so pretty in brown.
For this loliday I went to my first meetup, it was my first outing in lolita too, and my first lolita coordinate. :) I'm not sure how I'd ideally like to celebrate the next loliday yet really, it'll be my birthday so I might want to skip out on a meetup and spend the day with my family instead! But whatever I do, I'd like to have a much bigger loli wardrobe by then! <3

Wow, I wish I could have been there to hear itso much! Too bad I'm on the other side of the world. Is there anywhere where there's videos of extracts of the talk? ^-^

My own wasn't nearly so eventful. :3 I was working all morning and I couldn't travel upcountry to any of the meetups, so I changed after work and went into town to have afternoon tea in a Victorian tea parlour and then go to the museum by myself. It was very fun to get dressed up in my best, though, not to mention quite amusing to go to work with barrel curls and full makeup!

How I wish I could have attended!
Quite possible though, living on the other side of the ocean. -_-

Your outfit is so adorable!

Aw I wish I could have gone to those NYC events! But I had other stuff to do that day. The panels sounded like so much fun!

That sounds like a lot of fun! I wish I could have gone but.. NYC is quite a trip from southern Wisconsin.

Unfortunately I was working on the actual date of ILD, but the next day I was able to squeeze in a nice lunch and photo shoot in between my exams.

Did you happen to notice the average age of ILD-goers? I just had a birthday, and I'm starting to worry that I might be getting too old for lolita... Not that I like it any less, but I worry that other lolis might not be as accepting of an older girl (girl, woman, whatever). The other girls my age in the local scene--which is pretty much nonexistent at this point--have all moved away and/or hung up their frills. I'd like to go to an ILD event at least once before I'm put out to pasture! :p

My dream way of spending International Lolita Day 2010 would be to make the big jump of wearing my first Lolita outfit after two and a half years of making goo-goo eyes at the fashion. I wish I could have been at the panel, it sounds like it went perfectly!
