Cookie, Tea or Me?

I have resolved to post at least 5 outfit shots this month and on Wednesday I took one before school! (And wasn't late to class, bonus points to me!) I felt like getting super cute-ified, and wanted a very typical sweet lolita look. The color scheme I went for was the milk tea biscuit color accents, along with a sky blue. I was actually inspired by this photo of a girl using her Bodyline candy print bow (make sure you check out her blog, Cherry Kisses!), so I gave my same skirt a little surgery for this look. The skirt I don't really wear because of the weird quality of the fabric.... it has a sort of spandex feel that squicks me out, but the soft brown polka dots and blue stripes make this the perfect bow to accent my Wonder Cookie halter JSK.

Wednesday, March 2: Milk Tea Biscuit Coordinate

JSK, cutsew, socks: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Grace Gift
Bag: Yumetenbo/DreamV
Bag charms: Chocomint (pink doughnut) and Baby the Stars Shine Bright (Friend Usakumya)
Bow: Bodyline

Pretty simple makeup for Wednesday. I have been playing around with my eye makeup lately with fairly encouraging results: I'm really getting the hang on the right eyeliner shape and liquid liner for me, and I have new mascara I am in love with. For this look I used my mascara, Maybelline's Falsies, and what they call a 'shimmer stick.' Mine is a smooth white shimmer that I run under my lower lashes and sometimes the inner corner to bring light and a dewy glow into my eyes (you can buy the same one, Pearl White, here at prettyancute.com - and yes, they're only $2.50 apiece!). When I'm not doing a lot with my eyes, I tend to go for a pinker, more prominent blush instead, and give my poor lashes and lids a break.

For all the curious who want to know, can you really find cute lolita-worthy items at Yumetenbo, a discount gyaru website? This bag answers all the questions with a resounding yes! I have always been in need of a big, hold-all bag that still looks cute and lolita, but also cute enough to carry with simple daily wear outfits. Oh, and it has to match everything I own. Pretty tall order, no pressure. I've been hunting up on the perfect brand bag for maybe years now, without finding something to satisfy everything on my wishlist, not to mention coming with a hefty brand price tag. This purse beats them all out. It's white, covered in quilted hearts, with a gold chain and heart charm. Inside, it's lined with pink and white polka dot fabric, handily split into two notebook/textbook sized section. The area dividing the sections is also a zipper pocket, where I keep change, pencils, keys, etc. Not to mention a smaller zipper pocket on the back wall (for monthly maiden products) and a two pockets suitable for a cellphone. It's all topped off with a magnetic closure at the top. Best part? This Swiss-army-knife of a purse was less than 3000 yen, or roughly 35 USD. For everyone inspired to snag their own, here's the link (they come in black, white, and candy pink).

I've been spending a lot of hours at school working extra hard this semester, so I'm really getting dressed up for classes more in an effort to boost my spirits - so expect more lolita-at-school outfit shots soon!

xoxo,
