She Lived in a Lilac Wood

The unicorn lived in a lilac wood, and she lived all alone. She was very old, though she did not know it, and she was no longer the careless color of sea foam, but rather the color of snow falling on a moonlit night. But her eyes were still clear and unwearied, and she still moved like a shadow on the sea.
-Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn
I could go on forever about what a unicorn means to me. A unicorn is a symbol of hope, of purity, or belief... I've even considered getting a unicorn tattoo. But I'll save this long talk for another time.

I promised you lovelies a popkei unicorn for Halloween and here it is! (You can see the first post with examples of other unicorn girls here.) I can't believe how cute it came out, the hair was the best bit.

Outfit:

Skirt, star socks: Angelic Pretty
Unicorn purse: Pink Macaroon
Jeweled shoes: somewhere on Broadway in Seattle, don't recall now.
Cami: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Bow: Mousse Chocolat
Stars: 6% Doki Doki
Horn: handmade!

Plus the best photo: the close-up!

So, the horn! I made it out the silky lining of my old formal dress from junior high, stitched into a sort of cone shape and stuffed with fiberfill. Then I glued on pink flat-back pearls and a strip of silver sequins. There's a bow at the base with a gold star charm in the center, and then I mounted the whole thing on a comb to slide into my hair.

My hair is a teased ponytail (or unicorn tail!) When I went to the first party with this outfit, I curled it... But I didn't want to pester my hair anymore, so I added some extensions. I've pretty much trashed my old pink curly wig, but I used a few of the intact curls for some projects. These were some of the curls I had left. I wanted to glue them to real wig clips, but didn't have time so I just used regular hair clips to get them to stay. Then I just twisted them together with my real hair. It even stayed in all night at my family's Halloween party!

I've started tying a lace ribbon round my neck to hide a scar from a recent metal allergy, but it's actually a really cute look! A ribbon round the neck is a very delicate, coquettish style I think. A wide silk ribbon or just a little lace means it can have a very different look. I just borrowed the ribbons from my Bloom OP

I hope you all had a very happy & safe Halloween this year! What did you dress up as?

You do look very cute, but to be honest I would have absolutely no clue you were supposed to be a unicorn if you didn't say, nothing but your outfit is even remotely unicornish apart from the horn, and the horn itself is too small and over powered by the surrounding hair accessories to be at all noticeable. And seeing as you usually dress in a sweet style, it doesn't look like you are even in costume. Sorry, just saying.

That's a lovely unicorn outfit! I love lace chokers, and the horn/headpiece is beautiful.

I went as a gothic Sleeping Beauty, inspired by a song by the band Lareine (Kyokutou no Koibito). I made a headpieces with black ribbon roses and lace. ^^

You're lovely as always, though I must agree with one of the above comments- if you hadn't said that you were a unicorn, I would've just assumed that this was one of your regular (adorable) outfits.

For Halloween I was Mary Poppins, using lolita clothes! I work a simple white button-down blouse (KidsYoyo), my IW Antique books skirt, a black blazer, a little black boater hat, and a big red scarf. I borrowed my mother's knitting back to be Mary's never-ending carpet bag, and topped the whole thing off with black granny boots!

that is so cute! :) i love that you are so crafty, something i don't have much time for myself...
I would never have guessed your reason for tying a lace around your neck, just thought it was a very creative solution for a problem :)

I stayed home this year with my fiance and carved pumpkins. So no costume this year. You look adorable. I agree the smaller horn looks better than the large horn The Unicorn Club girls were wearing. I hope you had a Happy Halloween.

I switched out my pink frillies for a Punk-style coordinate! I wore my Ba-Tsu skirt based on the skirts in the Battle Royale film, in a black denim with a (rather funny, Engrishy) silver print, a black printed T-shirt, silver braces, rocking-horse shoes, and topped it off with a black blazer covered in band pins.

That unicorn horn is so cute, and I'm so amazed that you made it yourself! I would buy it if I saw it made by a brand, it's that well made. And the unicorn purse is adorable!

Kawaii desu~! You look so adorable I want to hug you like a plushie! (that sounded very creeper of me...)

I was a Vampiress this year (nothing Lolita about it) but maybe next year I'll do something more with a Lolita influence? I'll see next year.

I went in Lolita. I know that Lolita isn't a costume, but saying it was my costume was the only way to get my parents to buy me a dress. -3-
My friends said I looked like a maid and made pervy joke! -A-
I'll post pictures later on! I didn't know your hair was actually dyed pink. I always thought it was a wig, but knowing that it's real makes you just that much cuter! ^-^

Really cute! I love costumes that take inspiration from their theme rather than just go overboard with it. I just got a new dress in the mail so I wore that with the excuse that I was going as a doll. People believed it anyway, which made me wish I'd made more of an effort and added some sort of round bits around my elbows and knees to make myself like a ball-jointed doll! Got pictures but I'm waiting for a friend to send them to me!
